Supplements and Injections…
There are many options on the market for weight loss. Whether you are looking for a natural approach or a more medical approach, there is something for everyone! FDA has approved injectables like semaglutide and tirzepatide for weight loss in individuals with a BMI of 30 or greater or for those with a BMI of 27 and a comorbidity such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or type 2 diabetes. GLP-1 receptor agonists can help reduce blood sugar while slowing down how quickly food leaves your stomach during gastric emptying-helping you feel fuller longer.
Quality supplement plans can be used to help suppress appetite, cleanse the gut, and reset metabolism, making it easier for you to lose weight naturally. Supplements and medications alone, however, aren’t usually enough. Continue below for some more recommendations for a more complete you!
Meet with a Dietician…
Food is your friend! Eating too little can put your body in “save it all” mode and actually hinder your weight loss efforts. Focus on what you CAN have, what you CAN enjoy! Meet with Misty (a registered dietician) to discuss your specific nutrition needs.
Exercise…
There are many great exercise options. Even if you are on a budget or if have a small place in your home, you can still participate in exercises at home-like my personal favorite-yoga! Most importantly, create a routine. Commit to an exercise schedule and stick with it!

R&R
Don’t forget to keep rest and relaxation in mind when it comes to weight loss. Sleep is SO important! Your body needs good quality sleep to renew and restore you. Don’t use food or drinks to keep you up and going. Listen to your body. Stop eating at least two hours before going to bed and aim for at least 7-9 hours of sleep a night.
Tirzepatide and Semaglutide can cause side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal (stomach) discomfort and pain, injection site reactions, fatigue, hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions (typically fever and rash), burping, hair loss and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Tirzepatide and Semaglutide cause thyroid C-cell tumors in rats. It is unknown whether Tirzepatide and Semaglutide causes such tumors, including medullary thyroid cancer, in humans. Tirzepatide and Semaglutide should not be used in patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2.
Tirzepatide/Semaglutide has not been studied in patients with a history of pancreas inflammation (pancreatitis) or severe gastrointestinal disease (including severe gastroparesis, a condition that affects normal movement of the muscles in the stomach). It should not be used in combination with Mounjaro or a GLP-1 receptor agonist. The safety and effectiveness of coadministration of Tirzepatide or Semaglutide with other medications for weight management have not been established.
Tirzepatide and Semaglutide should not be used in patients with a history of severe allergic reaction to its active ingredient or to any of its other ingredients. Patients should stop Tirzepatide or Semaglutide immediately and seek medical help if a severe allergic reaction is suspected. Tirzepatide and Semaglutide also contain warnings for inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), gallbladder problems, hypoglycemia (blood sugar that is too low), acute kidney injury, diabetic retinopathy (damage to the eye’s retina) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and suicidal behavior or thinking. Patients should discuss with their health care provider if they have symptoms of pancreatitis or gallstones. If Tirzepatide or Semaglutide is used with insulin or a medication that causes insulin secretion, patients should speak to their primary health care provider about potentially lowering the dose of these other medicines to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia. Primary health care providers should monitor patients with kidney disease, diabetic retinopathy and depression or suicidal behaviors or thoughts.”
